Job description

As we continue to grow and improve our digital platform, we're looking for a Software QA Tester to join our team.

The ideal candidate enjoys understanding how systems work, has a methodical approach to problem-solving, and takes pride in organised, high-quality work. Attention to detail, maintaining clear records, and taking a structured approach to testing and defect investigation are all important aspects of the role.

An openness to modern tooling and new approaches that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of QA activities is also encouraged.

Purpose of this role

Working as part of the Product and Service Delivery team to ensure that the quality of technology deliverables is consistently high and meets the requirements of the business and its clients.

Success in this role requires a sharp eye for detail, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and a genuine interest in improving software quality.

You should have practical experience of software testing and be comfortable working closely with developers and product teams in an Agile environment. Experience with manual testing approaches is expected, alongside an openness to modern tooling, automation, and AI-assisted approaches where they improve quality and efficiency.

Above all, this role suits someone who takes pride in doing thorough work, asks questions, and sees quality as a shared responsibility across the team.

Key challenges

  • Balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced development cycle, ensuring robust testing without slowing down delivery.
  • Maintaining effective test coverage as products evolve and new features are introduced.
  • Debugging issues across integrations, data dependencies, and legacy systems.
  • Maintaining accurate and organised test records so that testing is repeatable, traceable, and clearly communicated.

Role and responsibilities

  • Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and supporting documentation.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across our platforms.
  • Keep accurate records of testing completed, evidence gathered, defects identified, and outcomes observed.
  • Support and contribute to testing activities across projects, taking ownership of assigned work and communicating progress clearly.
  • Work closely with developers and product teams to understand requirements and ensure suitable test coverage.
  • Investigate, document, and communicate defects clearly to support efficient resolution.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of QA practices, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, coverage, and quality through new approaches, tooling, automation, and AI-assisted techniques where appropriate.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software testing?, * Demonstrable experience working in software testing or QA.

  • Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach.
  • Ability to document work clearly and maintain accurate records.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with developers, product teams, and stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for learning and improving software quality.

Desirable

  • Exposure to automated testing tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Python, or another scripting language.
  • Exposure to source control or CI/CD tools.
  • Interest in modern QA tooling and emerging technologies, including AI-assisted approaches.
  • Exposure to cloud-based testing tools or environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, BrowserStack).
  • ISTQB or other relevant certification.
