Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Cash Application Specialist to support our Accounts Receivable team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely application of customer payments while partnering closely with collections and dispute teams to ensure clean account balances and efficient cash flow. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong analytical skills, and takes ownership of maintaining financial accuracy., Cash Application & Payment Processing

  • Accurately apply customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards, wires, etc.) to open invoices within the accounting system.
  • Ensure payments are applied within established deadlines and customer accounts remain current.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and support in accordance with internal controls.

Reconciliation & Discrepancy Resolution

  • Reconcile payment discrepancies and ensure all payments are correctly posted.
  • Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, chargebacks, and deductions.
  • Prepare detailed dispute packages related to deductions and short payments.

Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Assist in streamlining cash application processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide general support to the Accounts Receivable team including billing, reporting, reconciliations, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely resolution of account issues.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Writing skills?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in cash applications.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience within CPG or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines while maintaining high quality standards., * Cash Application : 2 years (Required)
  • Accounts receivable: 2 years (Required)
