Job description
We're seeking multiple Senior Design Engineers to support missionized aircraft programs. This role is full-scope design engineering with exposure to MRB, manufacturing support, and aftermarket/special missions modifications. You will play a key role in resolving build issues, developing engineering solutions, and authoring structural and systems installations for special mission aircraft.
What You'll Contribute
- Investigate design/build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions
- Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues quickly and effectively
- Disposition aircraft non-conformances, including rework instructions (MRB)
- Perform drawing investigations and coordinate with Quality, Operations, and other engineering disciplines
- Design Flight Test engineering change requests and collaborate with work package owners
- Author engineering defining structural special instructions or restrictions
- Design and release Special Missions Engineering structural and systems installations
Requirements
Do you have experience in Sheet metal?, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience
- Minimum 15,000 hours in CATIA V5 ( 8 years; ideal 8-10 years)
- Required CATIA V5 Workbenches:
- Assembly Design
- Part Design (Boolean Operations)
- Aerospace Sheetmetal
- Tubing Design
- Nice to have:
- Kinematics
- Electrical Harness Routing
- Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter PLM
- Experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications (required)
- Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications (required)
- Prior experience leading a team of engineers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter with strong ownership of deliverables
- Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Any additional aircraft or manufacturing experience is a plus
