Job description
The Senior Workday Systems Analyst is a technical leader responsible for supporting the implementation, configuration, integration, and ongoing optimization of the Workday platform at St. Petersburg College. This position spans the full lifecycle of the College's ERP modernization'from active participation in the Workday deployment (led by the College's deployment partner) through long-term post-go-live ownership of the Workday environment.
During the implementation phase, this role serves as SPC's internal technical subject matter expert, partnering with the deployment partner on data conversion and validation, integration design, functional configuration review, and knowledge transfer. Post-deployment, this role transitions to the primary technical owner of the Workday tenant, responsible for report development, integration maintenance and creation, business process configuration, bi-annual release management, security administration, process orchestration, and production support across Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, and Student. This position coordinates with functional stakeholders across Human Resources, Finance, Academic Affairs, Student Services, and Information Technology to translate business requirements into technical solutions within the Workday platform. The role reports to the Associate Director of Enterprise Applications and Business Intelligence., Implementation Phase (Workday Deployment)
- Serve as SPC's internal technical liaison to the College's deployment partner during the implementation of Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, and Student modules.
- Participate in data conversion activities including data extraction from PeopleSoft, mapping, cleansing, validation, and parallel testing to ensure data integrity in the Workday tenant.
- Support integration design and testing, working with the deployment partner to configure and validate integrations between Workday and third-party systems (e.g., benefits providers, banking/ACH, state and federal reporting agencies, learning management systems, SIS feeder systems).
- Review and validate functional configurations, business process definitions, security roles, and calculated fields as they are built by the deployment partner.
- Actively participate in knowledge transfer sessions to build internal competency in Workday configuration, reporting, and integration tooling.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) coordination, test script development, and defect tracking.
- Support change management and end-user training activities during cutover.
Post-Deployment / Steady State Operations
- Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for the Workday platform across HCM, Payroll, Financials, and Student modules.
- Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Composite Reports, and Matrix Reports.
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations using Workday Integration Cloud tools: Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Workday Studio, Cloud Connect, and Document Transformation.
- Develop and manage REST and SOAP API-based integrations between Workday and external systems, including custom middleware where required.
- Design and implement process automations using Workday Orchestrate to chain steps across Workday and external systems, streamlining multi-step business workflows.
- Configure and optimize Workday business processes, approval workflows, condition rules, and notifications in collaboration with functional process owners.
- Administer Workday security including security groups, domain and business process security policies, and role-based access controls.
- Manage Workday bi-annual release cycles: review feature release notes, assess impact on current configuration, coordinate regression testing, and implement adopted enhancements.
- Manage tenant administration across sandbox, implementation, and production environments.
- Provide Tier 2/3 production support for Workday-related incidents and service requests, triaging issues and coordinating resolution with Workday Support or external partners as needed.
- Analyze data quality and develop data governance practices to maintain the integrity of Workday data over time.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration specifications, and system configuration records.
- Mentor and guide other technical staff and functional analysts in Workday capabilities.
- Coordinate projects with internal stakeholders and external parties as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Workday?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field; four (4) years of experience in enterprise systems development, administration, or technical analysis. Experience with Workday or PeopleSoft is required. Direct Workday experience is strongly preferred but not required - candidates with strong PeopleSoft technical backgrounds and demonstrated ability to learn new platforms will be considered. Higher education experience is a plus. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job., * Workday platform architecture, configuration model, and tenant management (or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge)
