Job description

Reporting to the VP of IT, the Systems Engineer is a professional responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Lendistry's information technology infrastructure. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of IT systems, networks, and hardware/software components. Services and systems include Identity Management, Directory Services, Cloud Services, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. We are passionate about supporting our fellow employees. What You'll Be Doing

  • Attendance and Reliability: Regular attendance during business hours and reliable punctuality are essential functions of this position, and conformance with Lendistry's attendance policy is a key responsibility.

  • Comply with the regulatory recordkeeping requirements, including retaining, archiving, and producing the electronic communication data according to the applicable laws and regulations.

  • Follow company policies and procedures, including adhering to the approved applications and platforms for electronic communication, reporting any violations or issues, and cooperating with the compliance, legal, HR, and audit teams.

  • System Design and Implementation: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design efficient, scalable IT systems. Install, configure, and deploy hardware and software components including servers, networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.

  • System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor and maintain the health and performance of IT systems, ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues or outages. Perform routine maintenance such as patching, updates, resource optimization, and backups.

  • System Optimization & Performance Monitoring: Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. Analyze performance trends and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Technical Support & User Assistance: Provide technical support to end-users, assisting with software configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and the proper utilization of IT resources.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation for IT systems, network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and security incidents.

  • System Security & Data Protection: Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus protections, access controls, and disaster recovery practices to safeguard systems and data.

  • Identity Management: Manage and maintain key identity management systems including Okta, Azure AD, and associated dependent systems.

  • Cross-Team Support: Provide technical support to the Service Desk when requested and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experience and issue resolution.

  • On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in an on-call rotation and perform after-hours work as needed to support system maintenance or resolve urgent issues.

  • Project Execution: Manage assigned projects and deliver tasks on time while meeting established quality standards.

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise

Requirements

Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Education & Certifications: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often required. Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly valued.

  • Technical Skills: 4+ years of experience. Proficiency in configuring and managing operating systems (Windows, Linux), networks (LAN/WAN), virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python and IT automation tools is beneficial.

  • System Administration: Strong understanding of user management, file systems, security policies, backup strategies, and system monitoring practices.

  • Network Infrastructure: Familiarity with routing, switching, VPN, VLANs, firewalls, wireless technologies, and network security concepts including access control, intrusion detection/prevention, and encryption.

  • Technology Platforms: Experience managing and supporting:

  • VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and VMware Horizon View

  • Okta SSO

  • Proofpoint email filtering

  • Microsoft O365

  • Microsoft Intune

  • Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, SharePoint, and OneDrive

  • 8x8 System (voice platform)

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams, translate technical concepts for nontechnical audiences, and provide positive customer service experience.

  • ProblemSolving & Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and produce effective, timely solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills for both system and network issues.

  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and evolving security standards. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt within a dynamic work environment.

  • Professionalism: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and consistently exhibit a professional, business-like appearance and demeanor., This is primarily a stationary role requiring frequent sitting (approximately 95%), repetitive hand and wrist movements, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs., twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above shoulder height. Employees must be physically able to perform the essential functions of this position efficiently and safely.

Compensation Range

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $115,800 - $130,200 annually.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
