Join Iowa State University's nationally recognized College of Veterinary Medicine as a Systems Analyst I working directly within the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) . In this role, you will support the technology infrastructure that powers critical diagnostic, research, and teaching activities focused on animal and public health.

If you are looking to grow your IT career while supporting a mission driven organization, we encourage you to apply., * Set up, configure, and deploy IT equipment for new laboratory spaces, including imaging and installing required software
- Support lab transitions by moving equipment, maintaining organized workspaces, and updating inventory records
- Evaluate existing hardware and determine whether it should be relocated, reused, or replaced
- Organize and maintain Active Directory group policies and system configurations
- Assess laboratory technology needs and recommend hardware, software, and system improvements
- Provide desktop and technical support to faculty and staff across the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and affiliated locations
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to ensure reliable system performance
- Maintain, update, and support laboratory systems and applications
- Advise users on technology solutions and provide training on software and hardware usage
- Participate in IT workgroups and contribute to policies, standards, and best practices
- Enforce and audit system access controls and security protocols
- Decommission IT equipment in vacated laboratory spaces, including removal of devices and cabling
- Evaluate returned equipment and determine suitability for reuse or proper disposal
- Remove unused assets from systems and clean up Active Directory records
- Follow environmental health, safety, and laboratory compliance requirements during decommissioning
- Maintain accurate records of removed or retired equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS administration?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, High school diploma or equivalent, * Experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for device deployment and management
- Experience supporting a mixed operating system environment, including Windows and MacOS
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues between laboratory instruments and computers
- Experience working in a laboratory, healthcare, or diagnostic environment with technology systemsExperience imaging, deploying, and configuring desktop computers in a high volume or enterprise environment
