Job description
We are looking for a talented Principal Retail Systems Architect to lead end-to-end solution delivery for major retail platforms. We are a global retail technology leader that provides comprehensive in-store solutions and point-of-sale platforms for the world's largest retail brands., + Own end-to-end solution delivery across Discovery and Delivery Tracks, converting business needs into validated prototypes and technical implementations.

Instrument and leverage AI/agentic workflows (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate design, prototyping, code generation, and automated validation.

Lead architecture design and governance, producing ADRs, interface contracts, data models, and sequencing diagrams.

Serve as the active technical lead in client engagements, facilitating workshops and making critical architecture trade-off decisions.

Implement and demo reference code or critical components using modern retail stacks including Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript, and React/Vue.

Define and enforce architecture standards for security, scalability, and observability across cloud-native and event-driven integrations.

Mentor and upskill engineering teams on AI-assisted development, Dual-Track workflows, and platform best practices.
Requirements

12+ years of professional software development experience with recent hands-on coding and prototyping in modern stacks.

8+ years designing cloud-native, microservices, or event-driven architectures, specifically within Azure or equivalent cloud environments.

Proven experience in the Retail domain, specifically with POS systems and store operations.

Expert proficiency with AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) for coding, test generation, and documentation.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and REST/OpenAPI.

Experience leading Dual-Track Agile processes and managing Discovery Tracks to validate feasibility before implementation.

Strong knowledge of relational/non-relational databases (SQL/NoSQL) and messaging platforms.

Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certifications.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
