Job description
As a UX Designer at iwell, you will bridge the gap between product and engineering to shape the portals our customers and service teams rely on every day. You will work across two products: our Customer Portal, which gives businesses insight into and control over their energy management solutions, and our Asset Management Portal, used by our external partners and internal service team, to configure and monitor complex energy assets on customer sites. You work closely within one of our teams with Product Managers, Software Developers, Business Development and Operations across software, data, and hardware. You thrive in a cross-functional environment that rewards clear thinking, structured delivery, and a passion for building products that matter.
Success in this role means being able to:
- Run end-to-end user research with B2B customers, from recruiting and interviews to synthesis and sharing insights with the wider team.
- Translate complex technical battery and energy data into clear, intuitive interfaces.
- Move fluently between product strategy conversations and the practical realities of shipping with engineering.
- Raise the bar for design quality and user-centered thinking, alongside another UX Designer.
This role is ideal for someone who loves the discovery side of design as much as the craft, and who thrives when sitting close to engineering., * Plan and run user research with our B2B customers and internal users (interviews, usability tests, contextual visits) and turn findings into actionable insights for the team.
- Design end-to-end user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished interfaces for the Customer Portal and Asset Management Portal.
- Partner closely with engineers throughout the build to ensure designs are implemented well and that design decisions stay grounded in technical reality.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Customer Operations, Field Service, and Marketing to align on what problems to solve and why.
- Contribute to and help evolve our iwell design system, ways of working, and design culture together with the other UX Designer.
Requirements
Do you have experience in User research?, * Proven experience in UX design, with a portfolio that shows how your work led to real outcomes for users; experience in energy, sustainability, or related industries is a plus.
- Hands-on experience planning and running user research with B2B customers. You've recruited participants, run interviews, and turned messy notes into clear insights.
- Strong UI craft and proficiency with Figma (or similar). You can take a problem from research to wireframes to build-ready design.
- AI-minded, experience with the latest AI (design) tools or curiosity in them.
- Experience working with Agile practices, with a focus on iterative improvement and readiness for growth.
- A talent for simplifying complexity, making intricate data and technical concepts feel obvious to the user.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Speaking Dutch or German is a big plus, given our customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Nice to have
- Front-end experience (HTML/CSS, or framework experience like Angular), if you like to prototype or occasionally contribute in code.
- Experience designing for B2B SaaS, customer portals, or other technical or data-heavy products.
