Job description
In this Senior Software Test Engineer role, you will be deeply involved in the full development lifecycle from reviewing and validating requirements to defining test strategies and executing test plans. Working within a Scrum team, you act as the quality advocate, providing continuous feedback and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout development. What you'll be doing as a Senior Software Test Engineer:
- Acting as an integral part of a Scrum team, guiding and supporting team members on all quality aspects
- Reviewing and validating software requirements, ensuring they are testable and complete
- Contributing to defining acceptance criteria for user stories and features
- Designing, maintaining, and executing test cases and test plans (both manual and automated)
- Maintaining and improving the test database and overall test coverage
- Leading software testing activities, including regression and non-regression strategies
- Performing risk and impact analysis to ensure product stability
- Generating clear and structured test reports, providing insights and recommendations
- Analyzing data, identifying quality gaps, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Conducting root cause analysis to preventing recurring issues
- Coaching team members on test automation, test strategy, and quality best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance within high-tech environments
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including risk-based testing and the testing pyramid
- Hands-on experience with test automation (C++ preferred, Python is a plus)
- Solid experience with test tools such as Jenkins and TestRail
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification (Advanced level is a strong plus)
- Experience working with hardware-integrated systems is highly desirable
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify gaps and improve quality processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural teams
