Job description
FORTNA is seeking a Software Solution Architect to serve as the functional and operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) for warehouse software solutions throughout design, testing, commissioning, and go-live activities.
This role is highly focused on software solutions and warehouse operations, requiring a strong understanding of how warehouse software performs in real-world environments and supports operational workflows on the warehouse floor.
You will work closely with customers, operations teams, software developers, QA teams, and project stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet operational requirements and successfully support testing, commissioning, and production environments.
The ideal candidate can bridge the gap between warehouse operations and software functionality-translating operational needs into system behavior while clearly communicating how software solutions solve business and operational challenges., * Act as the primary software SME during customer workshops, testing sessions, commissioning, and go-live activities.
- Collaborate with customers and operations teams to understand warehouse requirements and ensure software solutions support operational workflows.
- Translate operational processes into software requirements, workflows, and testing scenarios.
- Guide QA, integration testing, and commissioning teams on expected functionality, system behavior, and validation criteria.
- Lead customer and stakeholder discussions, explaining how software solutions address operational challenges and support warehouse execution.
- Partner with Product Management, Software Development, Controls, and Operations teams to align software capabilities with system design and customer expectations.
- Identify operational gaps, edge cases, and process risks during design and testing phases and drive resolution.
- Support end-to-end solution validation, including integrations with WMS, WCS, automation systems, robotics, and material handling equipment.
- Review and refine user stories, functional requirements, workflows, and operational scenarios.
- Participate in commissioning and troubleshooting activities, helping teams quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
- Provide technical and functional guidance to software development teams.
- Maintain expertise in warehouse processes, automation technologies, and software capabilities to support future customer implementations and product evolution.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Warehouse management system?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with warehouse software solutions, warehouse operations, or supply chain execution systems.
- Strong understanding of warehouse workflows, fulfillment operations, and distribution center processes.
- Experience with Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or similar platforms.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, operators, project teams, and software developers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, or go-live activities for large-scale warehouse implementations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams., * Experience with warehouse automation technologies including AutoStore, ASRS, conveyor systems, sortation systems, robotics, or goods-to-person solutions.
- Experience supporting customer-facing testing, operational readiness, or onsite commissioning activities.
- Strong understanding of integrations between WES, WCS, WMS, and automation systems.
- Experience defining and validating operational test scenarios and workflows.
- Ability to review and refine software requirements, user stories, and operational documentation.
- Familiarity with Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, and database technologies.
- Experience in logistics, fulfillment, retail distribution, or supply chain environments.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in operational and business-focused language.
