As the Training & Technical Assistance Specialist, you will play a vital role in advancing our agency's strategic goals to end child abuse and neglect, improve pathways to grade-level reading, and foster a culture of philanthropy. This position involves delivering community-based training and technical assistance to early care and education providers in Onslow County, supporting programs such as Quality Child Care (QCC), the Continuous High Quality Enhancement Initiative (CQEI), North Carolina Prekindergarten (NCPK), Three School, and various training initiatives.
In this role, you are responsible for day-to-day delivery of coaching and mentoring to local early care and education programs and educators. The Training & Technical Assistance Specialist should have knowledge of the NC Child Care Rules and Regulations, NC Rated License Assessment Project, NC Early Learning Standards, a variety of Early Childhood Curriculums, Inclusion, NCPK Program Requirements, Best Practices and systems of support available in the community. You are responsible for assessing program needs and being well informed of research that impacts the health and development of all children. This role involves supporting inclusive practices within the classroom by providing coaching and modeling strategies to ensure all children, including those with diverse needs, can thrive in an equitable learning environment., * Act as a liaison between One Place and the ECE community to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance to ECE sites, including those eligible for One Place-supported programs.
- Develop and facilitate systems that enhance the quality of early education experiences.
- Collect, analyze, and utilize data to assess program needs and trends in early childhood education.
- Design and deliver training for early educators, utilizing adult learning principles to support professional development.
- Offer coaching and mentoring to educators and team members to promote inclusive practices.
- Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive environments tailored to diverse learners.
- Maintain compliance with NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) rules and regulations.
- Support short-term and long-term program planning with supervisors.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout Onslow County to provide onsite coaching, technical assistance, and training.
- Maintain accurate documentation of coaching visits, technical assistance activities, training attendance, and program outcomes in accordance with grant and agency requirements.
- Utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approaches when supporting educators, children, and families.
- Build collaborative relationships with childcare administrators, teachers, community partners, and families to strengthen early childhood systems of support.
- Provide referrals to additional services and report suspected child abuse or neglect appropriately.
- Ensure program integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Do you have a valid Teaching Certification license?, Do you have experience in Working with families with children?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in early childhood classrooms (Birth-5), child development, or the early care and education field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Have or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Early Educator Certification (EEC) at Level 11 or higher on the Early Educator Scale, including T&TA and PDE Endorsements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both program and outreach settings.
- Occasional evening or weekend trainings/events may be required.
- Experience working with socially and economically diverse families, agencies, and organizations.
- Energetic, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations governing childcare in North Carolina.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, facilitate in-person and online training, and conduct onsite classroom observations for extended periods.
