Job description

· Conduct performance tests as required including Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Integrated Testing, Northern New Mexico Integrated Security LLC (N2MIS) Alarm Response and Assessment Performance Tests (ARAPTs), Limited Scope Performance Tests (LSPTs) and No-notice performance tests. · Evaluate the validity and sufficiency of specific site plans to address threats and provide recommendations for change as appropriate. · Evaluate the quality and adequacy of training and supervision in preparing and managing Protective Force personnel to perform specified tasks. Provide recommendations for change as appropriate · Monitor and ensure performance test safety plans include personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Support Force-on-Force activities by providing exercise briefings to participants, coordinating exercises with facility personnel and other LANL personnel. · Assist in development of exercise scenarios, Force-on-Force activity plans, Hazard Identification Mitigation Plans (HIMPs) and Safety Plans and/or any other assignments intended to support the safe conduct of the activity. · Update and review test plans, procedures, and departmental manuals to ensure their accuracy and currency with federal and state laws, orders, guides, and manuals. · Ensure work is executed in accordance with Integrated Safety Management (ISM) and Integrated Safeguards and Security Management (ISSM) core functions and guiding principles.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: · Work is performed onsite. Position is not remote. · High School diploma or equivalent. · Knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) Protective Force Operations or military experience as an evaluator/observer controller or law enforcement evaluator/observer controller. · Currently have, or be able to obtain and maintain, an active Department of Energy Q level clearance. Obtaining this clearance requires US citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. · Must obtain and maintain a DOE Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. · Intermediate level proficiency in the Microsoft Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. · Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey information professionally and tactfully. · Ability to obtain and maintain a valid NM driver's license. Desired Education and Experience (Considered a Plus): · Three (3) years of experience in security or exercise planning through the armed forces or other government agency or contractor employment with special emphasis on oversight assessment preferred.
