Business Analyst with data ETL and reporting

• We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst / Data Integration Consultant to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, with the possibility for extension based on performance. This role combines business analysis responsibilities with hands-on technical expertise in ETL and data integration processes.
• The ideal candidate will partner directly with business stakeholders to drive adoption of self-service data capabilities while also supporting the design, development, and optimization of ETL workflows and data pipelines. This position is focused on reducing reliance on technical teams for routine reporting and analysis needs by empowering business users to independently access, understand, and utilize data with confidence.
• Successful candidates will possess strong communication and training skills, along with the technical ability to work across data platforms, integrations, and transformation processes. The role requires someone who can effectively bridge the gap between business users and technical data teams, translating business requirements into scalable data solutions and enabling reliable, accessible reporting and analytics., Business Engagement & Self-Serve Enablement
• Partner with business stakeholders across departments to understand their data and reporting needs.
• Identify opportunities to transition users from ad hoc data requests to self-serve reporting and analytics.
• Develop and maintain a roadmap for self-serve adoption across business units.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and the data platform team during the transition to self-serve.

Training & Change Management

• Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and documentation to enable business users to independently leverage BI and data tools (preferred tool: Azure Databricks Unity Catalog).
• Develop user-friendly guides, how-to materials, and reference resources tailored to non-technical audiences.
• Champion a culture of data literacy and self-service across the organization.
• Track adoption progress and adjust training approaches based on user feedback and observed gaps.

Requirements & Analytics Support

• Work with business stakeholders to gather, document, and refine data and reporting requirements.
• Translate business needs into actionable specifications for dashboards, reports, and data products.
• Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) for new data products and self-serve tools.
• Act as a liaison and process advisor across initiatives tied to data quality and platform usability.

Data Governance (Supporting Role)

• Support planning and awareness efforts related to enterprise data governance initiatives.
• Help business users understand data definitions, standards, and governance practices as they adopt self-serve tools.
• Collaborate with technical and governance stakeholders to ensure business users have access to trusted, well-documented data.

Operational & Platform Support (Secondary)

• Provide light support on data operations and monitoring topics where business context is needed.
• Support cross-functional project efforts related to data quality, integrity, and platform improvements as a business-side resource.

Do you have experience in User training (technical support)?, * Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role working with data, reporting, or BI platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to train and enable non-technical users on data and analytics tools.
• Strong requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools and practices
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, accessible language for business audiences.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

• Experience supporting or implementing data governance initiatives.
• Familiarity with enterprise data management principles and modern data architecture.
• Experience working with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps (or equivalent) in a project support capacity.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts as they relate to data operations or analytics.
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools; please designate any tool experience in your resume.
