Job description
The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining and securing the organization's core infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on operating system patch management, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure lifecycle management. This role ensures systems remain secure, highly available, compliant, and scalable while partnering closely with security, network, and application teams to reduce operational and cybersecurity risk., * Maintain server, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage patching and vulnerability remediation processes
- Ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities in alignment with organizational SLAs, compliance requirements, and CISA security advisories.
- Datacenter Infrastructure and operations knowledge
- Lead infrastructure remediation efforts with network and security teams with system integrations, patching, and hardening.
- Partner with application, data, and security teams to ensure infrastructure supports business needs.
- Participate in disaster recovery strategy, planning, testing, and execution.
- Automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address capacity, stability, or security risks.
- Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues, including root cause analysis.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5-7+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure engineering.
- Extensive technical knowledge of Servers/Blade Enclosures, enterprise storage (SAN/NAS).
- Advanced experience administering VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS, and lifecycle management.
- Advanced administration experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems, including installation, configuration, patch management, vulnerability remediation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Linux administration and patching proficiency is a requirement for this position.
- Experience with backup solutions, scripting, monitoring, and automation
- Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS
- Advanced knowledge with implementing/renewing keys and Digital Certificates
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with strong collaboration and attention to detail.
