Senior technical architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Architect to join our team for the development and execution of a landmark custom residential project.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the realization of a high-profile residence. The project features complex geometry, sophisticated detailing, extensive consultant coordination, and an accelerated schedule.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and experienced in translating ambitious design concepts into clear, coordinated, and buildable construction documents.

About the Role

Working directly with the principal, you will take a leading role in the technical development, coordination, and documentation of a significant custom residential project.

This position may be structured as either a full-time role or a project-based contract assignment, depending on the candidate's experience and availability.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead development of construction documents for a high-end custom residence
• Resolve complex architectural and building envelope conditions
• Produce and oversee detailed architectural sections, details, and assemblies
• Maintain design intent while ensuring constructability and code compliance

Consultant Coordination

• Coordinate closely with structural, MEP, landscape, lighting, and specialty consultants
• Review consultant drawings for consistency and integration
• Identify and resolve conflicts proactively

Project Delivery

• Support permitting and plan check responses
• Participate in contractor coordination and construction administration
• Help maintain project momentum within an aggressive schedule

Do you have experience in Technical documentation?, * 8+ years of professional architectural experience

• Significant experience with high-end custom residential projects
• Exceptional construction documentation and detailing skills
• Strong understanding of building assemblies, waterproofing, and exterior envelope systems
• Experience coordinating complex consultant teams
• Ability to work independently and solve technical challenges with minimal oversight
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

• Coastal residential experience
• Experience detailing modern residential architecture
• Experience with challenging structural and architectural interfaces
• Architectural licensure is welcome but not required

Software

• AutoCAD proficiency required
• ArchiCAD experience preferred
• SketchUp experience preferred
