Our Labs team at Toyota Connected is seeking a DevOps Engineering Manager to join our growing team! This person will be a pivotal leader to contribute to our growth strategy, as well as Toyota's overall mission of becoming a mobility company. As a part of a fast-growing tech company closely aligned with the world's largest automaker, this role builds the capability for our organization to scale and get to market faster., * Design and develop software to create cutting edge solutions by writing maintainable, extensible, tested code, while complying with coding standards
- Align technical resourcing to product release plans and material plans, drive programs to completion on time and within budget
- Manage staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams, motivating and developing project and team leaders
- Lead, develop, train, mentor and provide coaching and guidance to engineering staff
- Lead from the front in following best practices in development, microservices design and CI/CD methodologies
- Facilitate end to end user testing and collaboration with key customers
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Proactively help bridge gaps between Toyota Connected and its partners
- Work closely with product owners to shape and deliver features to customers
- Maintain, support and build out infrastructure and services currently operating on AWS
- Deliver solutions in a complex environment including distributed systems and applications
- Lead a team in building world-class, multi-cloud capable, state-of-the-art products by:
- Automating build processes
- Incorporating static code quality tools
- Helping identify code promotion qualities
- Utilizing and promoting the use of advanced deployment patterns like Canary and Blue/Green
- Building CI/CD pipelines
- Building highly resilient cloud eco-systems capable of high availability and scale
- Deploying to public cloud providers like AWS
- Developing and maintaining applications that use Docker containers, Kubernetes as an orchestrator, or as full VMs with base images
Requirements
Do you have experience in Writing skills?, * 5+ years of production experience working as a Software Engineer, Cloud Engineer, and/or DevOps Engineer
- Experience managing, leading, and coaching engineering teams with positive results
- Experience leading and managing the architecture, development, and delivery of scalable and reliable software products or solutions
- Deep experience with public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding in CI/CD practices in a microservices ecosystem
- Production experience with containerization using Docker and container orchestration in Kubernetes
- Deep experience with infrastructure provisioning or infrastructure as code tools such Terraform, CloudFormation or similar
- Experience creating various types of automation using Bash, Shell, Python, Go or similar languages
- Experience leading a team in an Agile environment and promoting Agile development practices
- Experience leading large scale monitoring and observability efforts utilizing tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent monitoring and logging solutions
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across various teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership
- Experience helping to resolve complex technical challenges with multi team impact
- Experience participating in interviewing and selecting new hires
- Experience guiding teams make cost effective technology decisions
- Experience in software product delivery and operations for large scale customer facing and mission critical products or solutions
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to evaluate employee performance and provide feedback for development
- Exhibits integrity and high standards in work quality
- Ability to build trust and cooperation amongst team members
