Job description
We are seeking an IT Support Specialist I to join our team. The IT Support Specialist I is responsible for providing technical support to end users across the organization by responding to initial requests and inquiries to assist in installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network systems., * Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Provide step-by-step troubleshooting for basic hardware, software, and network issues.
- Receives, logs, tracks, and documents support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
- Escalates unresolved issues to higher level technical support or appropriate IT staff.
- Installs, configures, and maintains standard desktop applications and operating systems.
- Assists with setting up and maintaining user accounts, passwords, and permissions.
- Provides basic training to users on software applications, security practices, and equipment use.
- Maintains accurate inventory records for hardware, peripherals, and software licenses.
- Follows IT department policies and procedures, including data security and confidentiality requirements.
- Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in User training (technical support)?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, Minimum:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) years of experience in an IT Technician or related technical support role.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
- Experience supporting users in construction or field-based environments.
OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in the successful performance of the job. Additional education may substitute for required experience on one-for-one year basis or vice versa.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of PC, mobile operating systems, and IT hardware.
- Knowledge of networking basics and equipment setup.
- Skill in diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- Skill in providing clear user support and technical documentation.
- Ability to lift to fifty (50) pounds and work on-site as needed.
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
Work Environment
- Medium work environment. Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to uncomfortable and hazardous physical, ergonomic, and/or emotional environment. Work requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing protective equipment; exposure to environmental conditions, weather, climbing, crawling, lying, and working under pressure.
