- Improve shop-floor execution, labor utilization, throughput, quality performance, and schedule reliability across fabrication operations.
- Support production ramp-up activities for structural skids, modular platforms, equipment supports, and integrated infrastructure assemblies.
- Lead fabrication readiness activities by aligning drawings, labor plans, tooling, fixtures, material flow, quality checkpoints, and production schedules.
- Support first-article and prototype builds by validating fabrication sequencing, tooling requirements, labor assumptions, and production readiness.
- Translate lessons learned from prototype and early-stage builds into standard work instructions, visual controls, and repeatable production processes.
- Coordinate fabrication planning with downstream mechanical, electrical, coating, and customer-supplied component integration requirements.
- Identify and resolve conflicts between structural fabrication, coatings, electrical/mechanical installation, and customer interface requirements before they impact production.
- Optimize shop layout, tooling, fixtures, material staging, and product flow to maximize throughput and equipment utilization.
- Evaluate fabrication equipment, material handling systems, welding stations, blast/paint handoffs, and fixture requirements to support scalable operations.
- Recommend capital improvements and process enhancements that improve quality, safety, throughput, and labor efficiency.
- Coach fabrication supervisors, welders, fitters, operators, and shop personnel to improve workmanship, accountability, productivity, and safe work execution.
- Provide practical oversight of welding operations including fit-up standards, weld sequencing, distortion control, and procedure compliance.
- Partner with Quality and CWI resources to ensure fabrication practices support customer requirements and first-pass quality expectations.
- Support development of production travelers, fabrication checklists, inspection hold points, and visual standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles, root-cause analysis, and process standardization.
