Job description
We are seeking a hands-on, full-time, on-site Systems & Network Engineer to join our dynamic technical team. In this critical role, you will help manage, optimize, and scale our core infrastructure-ensuring high availability, robust modern security, and operational excellence across our network, virtualization platforms, and telephony systems. If you thrive in a collaborative environment where your technical expertise directly drives daily business operations, we want to hear from you., * Infrastructure & Systems Management: Manage, maintain, and optimize local Voice/Data server environments, virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and VMware), and integrated cloud environments.
- Hardware Configuration & Deployment: Provision, configure, deploy, and manage enterprise hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Core Systems Administration: Administer and maintain proprietary and third-party solutions across local and remote networks, enterprise applications, storage infrastructure, and VoIP platforms.
- Network & Cyber Security: Monitor, troubleshoot, and implement robust digital security measures across networks to aggressively protect local endpoints and data centers from modern cyber threats.
- Data Protection & Business Continuity: Oversee enterprise backup solutions, disaster recovery infrastructure, and conduct routine on-site failover testing to ensure data integrity.
- Advanced Technical Support & Strategy: Provide high-level technical support for complex issues, collaborating closely with IT leadership on all systems/applications upgrades, virtualization, and infrastructure consolidation.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain daily operational uptime and excellence for users, critical systems, applications, and core Voice/Data networks.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WAN?, * Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in network and systems administration.
- Networking Expertise: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN/VLAN architectures, network services, and security protocols.
- Cisco VoIP Ecosystem: Demonstrated hands-on experience managing Cisco Unified Communications (UC) applications, including CUCM, Unity Connection, UCCX, and Calabrio/QM.
- Microsoft Stack Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of and extensive experience with Microsoft Active Directory, SQL Server, Operating Systems, Office 365, and Exchange Online.
- Virtualization: Proven experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting virtualization technologies in both VMware and Hyper-V environments.
- Disaster Recovery: Practical experience in Data Center management and Disaster Recovery.
- Professional Skills: Excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, precise technical documentation skills, and strong communication skills.
- Availability & Location: Must be local to or within reasonable commuting distance of the Bridgeport, CT area, and available to work off-hours or on an on-call when required., * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: Active Cisco (e.g., CCNA/CCNP) and/or Microsoft certifications.
- Technical Skills: Basic software development, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), or automation skills.
