Job description
We're looking for a Junior SQL Developer to support our reporting and analytics function, working primarily within a Snowflake-based data warehouse environment. This role will focus on maintaining and developing SQL queries, supporting Power BI reporting requirements, and working with our medallion architecture data warehouse (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers).
This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on SQL experience (commercial or personal projects)
What you'll be working:
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week. Working Monday - Friday, 09.00-17.30
What you'll be doing:
- Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL queries and transformations within Snowflake
- Support the Power BI reporting team by preparing and validating datasets for reporting and dashboards
- Work within a medallionised data warehouse architecture, ensuring data quality and consistency across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers
- Assist with troubleshooting data issues and resolving discrepancies in reporting outputs s
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
- Contribute to documentation of data models, SQL logic, and reporting processes
- Support ongoing improvements to data pipelines and reporting performance
- Create reports using Power BI
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, * Around 1 year of commercial or practical experience writing SQL
- Experience with Snowflake or another modern cloud data warehouse (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse)
- Understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with Power BI or supporting BI/reporting functions
- Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data transformation
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Exposure/experience with Power BI is greatly desirable.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with medallion/layered data warehouse architectures
- Exposure to data modelling concepts
- Understanding of performance optimisation in SQL
- Knowledge of cloud data environments or orchestration tools is beneficial, * Someone proactive and eager to develop technically
- A team player who enjoys solving data problems
- Comfortable working in a collaborative reporting and analytics environment
- Interested in building a long-term career in data engineering, analytics, or BI
