Snowflake Experience with: o Terraform o Infrastructure-as-Code o Serverless Framework o CloudFormation Strong experience with: o React o TypeScript o Node.js o HTML/CSS o API development Strong AWS serverless experience including: o Lambda o API Gateway o S3 o CloudFront o EventBridge o SQS local to Chicago o TypeScript o Node.js o AWS Lambda o Serverless Framework Develop modern UI interfaces using: o React hooks o Functional components o Component composition o State management patterns o Render lifecycle best practices o Maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps deployment processes Hyatt is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Global Digital & Technology organization supporting innovative guest-facing and enterprise platforms. This individual will serve as both a hands-on technical contributor and a technical leader within the engineering team. This is not solely a coding role. The selected candidate will be expected to actively contribute to software development while also influencing technical direction, mentoring team members, driving architectural decisions, and supporting cloud modernization initiatives. The role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, DevOps practices, cloud architecture, and full lifecycle ownership of scalable applications within a fast-paced Agile environment. The ideal candidate brings strong cloud-native engineering experience, a serverless-first mindset, and the ability to operate effectively across engineering, product, UX, and operational teams. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and operate full-stack cloud-native applications and services in AWS using a serverless-first approach Build scalable front-end and back-end solutions utilizing: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following established engineering standards Define and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies Support cloud migration efforts through application modernization and legacy refactoring Participate in product planning and roadmap discussions Take ownership of end-to-end feature delivery: Requirements Architecture Development Deployment Continuous improvement Collaborate with engineering, UX, product, and operations teams to improve performance and user experience Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentoring across the engineering team Lead technical discussions and drive consensus around architecture and implementation decisions Perform code reviews and maintain engineering standards Support production systems as Tier 3 escalation support when required Utilize analytics and user feedback to improve applications and user experiences MUST HAVE 8+ years of Full Stack software engineering experience Strong CI/CD and DevOps experience: Git Jenkins GitLab Deployment pipelines

Requirements

Experience with containerization: Docker ECS/Fargate Snowpark Container Services Experience with: DynamoDB Snowflake Knowledge of: Event-driven architecture Service-oriented architecture Cloud-native application patterns Strong experience working in Agile development environments Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Must currently reside in the Chicago area PREFERRED SKILLS Redshift or DB2 experience Dimensional modeling experience AWS certifications: AWS Solutions Architect AWS Developer AWS DevOps Snowflake certification Proven experience leading cloud migration initiatives Proven mentoring and technical leadership experience Strong stakeholder management skills Experience influencing engineering decisions and architecture strategy EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in: Computer Science Engineering Management Information Systems Related field Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
