We strive to be world-class in investing in our people and commit to developing you as a professional., Khan Academy is looking for a Data Analyst I (24 months fixed-term) to support high-visibility reporting and dashboarding across the organization. This role will be a key partner to senior leadership and the Philanthropy team, ensuring stakeholders and funders have timely, accurate, and well-explained metrics. We're looking for someone who enjoys making data usable - clean definitions, consistent reporting, and clear visuals that help people make decisions., * Produce recurring reporting for senior leadership, including maintaining and updating Monthly Business Review (MBR) slides with company-level KPIs and narrative context (what changed, why it matters, and what to watch next).
- Build, own, and continuously improve self-serve dashboards for organizations/teams (e.g., Philanthropy and cross-functional leaders), ensuring metrics are clearly defined, quality checked for data issues, well-documented, and trusted.
- Respond to reporting requests from Philanthropy (including funder reporting), translating questions into clear requirements, pulling the right data, and delivering outputs on schedule.
- Align on metric definitions, reconcile discrepancies, and partner with data/engineering where instrumentation or pipeline issues impact reporting.
- Create lightweight analyses to add context to reporting (segmentation, comparisons over time, funnel summaries), and communicate findings in plain language.
- Improve reporting workflows by templating, documenting processes, and automating repeatable tasks, while shifting toward building AI-powered, self-serve access via AI agents that can respond to stakeholder questions in real time., We understand that achieving our audacious mission is a marathon, so we set realistic timelines and we focus on delivery that also links to the bigger picture. Requirements
Do you have experience in Statistical analysis tools?, * A passion for Khan Academy's mission and a desire to improve educational outcomes through better decision-making.
- At least 2 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related role (internships/academic projects welcome).
- Solid SQL skills (comfortable querying, joining tables, and validating results).
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations in a BI tool (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
- Interest in or experience with AI tools (e.g., LLMs) and a willingness to learn how to build and iterate on AI-driven solutions (such as internal agents) to scale analytics with a strong sense of "what makes a dashboard actually useful."
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and slide decks to present metrics clearly and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a healthy skepticism: you like validating numbers before sharing them widely.
- Clear communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to explain definitions and caveats without making everyone's eyes glaze over.
- Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines for recurring reporting cycles.
- Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization.
- Familiarity with Python or R is a plus (helpful for light automation or deeper analysis, but not required).
- Prior experience in education, nonprofits, or funder-facing reporting is a plus.

The compensation band for this role is $107,712 - $121,176 USD annually for candidates based in the United States and $145,552 - $163,746 CAD annually for candidates based in Canada. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
