Job description

As an Employee Access System Administrator, you will manage user identities, permissions, and account lifecycle activities across a secure enterprise environment. You'll support access governance, audits, process documentation, and support, while ensuring approvals, compliance, and security standards are consistently met across internal and contractor access., A well-established organisation is looking for an Employee Access System Administrator to support the secure and effective management of employee and contractor access across core business systems.

This role will focus on administering the full user account lifecycle, ensuring access requests are processed accurately, approvals are in place, and security policies are consistently followed. You'll also support audit requirements, maintain clear process documentation, and provide higher-level support across the access management environment.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Administer the full lifecycle of user accounts, including adding, modifying, and disabling access.
  • Managing user permissions across enterprise systems for employees and contractors.
  • Ensuring all access requests meet internal security policies and approval controls.
  • Supporting the administration of network file shares and related permissions.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date process and procedural documentation.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit activity by providing accurate user access information.
  • Providing third line support for access-related issues.
  • Participating in an on-call support rota as required.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline access administration processes.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Active Directory and account management processes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online administration tools.
  • Good understanding of Windows NTFS permissions and file system security.
  • Experience administering DFS Namespace services.
  • Familiarity with security and risk controls within regulated environments.
  • Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) or similar governance frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell.
  • Basic understanding of identity and access management principles.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Analytical approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong internal customer service and stakeholder management skills.
