Job description

The position focuses on daily HRIS administration, payroll and benefits support, compliance reporting, and ongoing system enhancements within a cloud-based HR/payroll platform.

This role is best suited for a detail-oriented professional who takes ownership, proactively solves problems, and drives improvements across HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance operations.

Candidates with strong payroll expertise-particularly in deductions, tax mappings, general ledger integrations, and benefits interfaces-tend to excel in this position.

Key Responsibilities

HRIS & System Administration

  • Manage day-to-day administration and configuration of the HR/payroll system, including workflows, data tables, and system rules
  • Maintain employee records, job profiles, compensation data, and organizational structure
  • Oversee position management and ensure accurate headcount and reporting structure integrity
  • Perform routine data audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Support payroll-to-general ledger mapping, ensuring proper allocation of earnings, deductions, taxes, and labor distributions
  • Partner with Finance to support cost center alignment and reporting needs

Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Support payroll processing through validation, data review, and issue resolution
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, and ongoing updates
  • Serve as a primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and escalations
  • Manage eligibility files and carrier data feeds, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Coordinate annual benefits enrollment activities, including system setup, testing, communications, and reporting
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with payroll processing activities as required

Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage annual and recurring regulatory reporting processes, including W-2, 1095, 5500, EEO-1, OSHA, and other required filings
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable employment regulations, including ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, and related requirements
  • Maintain accurate electronic employee records in accordance with retention standards
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, reporting, and system data

Process Improvement & System Enhancements

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance workflows
  • Support testing and implementation of system updates, enhancements, and new functionality
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and training materials
  • Support HR and payroll team members with system training and best practices

Support & Issue Resolution

  • Act as an escalation point for complex HRIS, payroll, benefits, and compliance-related issues
  • Troubleshoot system issues and manage vendor support tickets through resolution
  • Provide guidance on reporting tools, compliance data, and system functionality

Requirements

Do you have experience in Workflow management (operations management method)?, * 3-7 years of hands-on experience in HRIS, payroll, or HR operations roles

  • 3-7 years of experience supporting payroll processing and administering employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation
  • Strong working knowledge of HR/payroll systems, including configuration, workflow management, and ongoing administration
  • Solid understanding of payroll data management, including deductions, tax setup, and general ledger (GL) integration/mapping
  • Experience supporting employee benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, and leave programs
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting open enrollment cycles and system configuration
  • Exposure to compliance reporting, payroll audits, or benefits billing reconciliation
  • Experience in multi-site, industrial, or manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing SOPs or supporting HRIS system implementations or upgrades
