Job description
The scope of responsibilities reflects a journeyman-level professional who:
- Applies established system administration principles and procedures to maintain and sustain mission systems
- Performs independent troubleshooting and remediation of hardware, software, and network issues
- Configures and supports client systems, servers, and small tactical/peer-to-peer networks
- Executes system deployment, imaging, and data validation activities in operational environments
- Provides direct user support and coordination with Government personnel
- While the role requires broad technical proficiency and operational awareness, it is primarily focused on execution and sustainment rather than enterprise architecture, system design, or technical leadership, which are characteristic of senior-level roles.
Requirements
The Mission Planning Systems Engineer (MPSE) provides hands-on system administration and operational sustainment support, requiring a minimum of five (5) years of experience in network and/or systems administration. The role operates independently in executing technical tasks, including system imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, and deployment support, while directly supporting mission-critical systems and end users., 5+ years of hands-on experience in network and/or systems administration.
- Experience supporting Special Operations, SOCOM, or C4ISR environments.
- Strong knowledge of DoD Information Assurance, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting LAN environments.
- Familiarity with IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL).

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution (preferred).
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Additional Information
- Ability to travel on short notice, including OCONUS locations.
- Ability to work in operational environments with limited infrastructure.
- Eligible for NATO access (U.S. citizenship required).
- Must meet all applicable security requirements (clearance level to be specified).
