Job description
We are seeking a practical, customer-focused Applications Engineer to support product implementation, technical problem-solving, and process optimization for customers in foundry and casting environments. The role combines hands-on testing and evaluation with CAD-based product configuration and customer training to ensure successful adoption and performance of our solutions., * Provide technical support and application engineering services to customers, including on-site troubleshooting and process optimization in foundry and casting operations.
- Design and conduct sand and sand testing protocols to evaluate material properties, performance, and compatibility with products and processes.
- Collaborate with sales, R&D, and production teams to develop and validate solutions, prototypes, and custom configurations using CAD tools.
- Prepare detailed test reports, technical recommendations, and documentation for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Run pilot trials, collect and analyze data, and translate findings into actionable process improvements and product enhancements.
- Deliver customer training sessions and demonstrations on product use, testing procedures, and best practices for foundry processes.
- Support new product introductions by providing application requirements, test feedback, and manufacturing input.
- Maintain strong customer relationships, gathering feedback and identifying opportunities for product or service improvements.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical report writing?, * Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years experience working in foundry, casting, or related manufacturing environments with hands-on experience in sand handling and sand testing.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to support product configuration, part modeling, and communication of design intent.
- Strong practical knowledge of foundry processes, mold and core making, sand testing methods (e.g., moisture, permeability, green/air set strength), and common defects/troubleshooting approaches.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience translating test results into process or product recommendations.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports and conducting customer-facing training or presentations.
- Ability to travel to customer sites for testing, commissioning, and support as required - $15%
- Experience with laboratory equipment, data collection, and basic statistical analysis for test validation is preferred.
