Job description

IT Infrastructure & Automation Engineer is responsible for leading the enhancement, modernization, and maintenance of the organization's technology infrastructure through hands-on technical support, systems engineering, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role collaborates with leadership and stakeholders across all departments to implement, support, and optimize business systems that drive operational efficiency, scalability, cybersecurity, and long-term business objectives. The position also supports ERP and ancillary systems through analytics, programming, automation, database management, systems integration, and advanced technical troubleshooting. Planning: Support the development and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure to ensure alignment with business strategies and operational objectives.

  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures in accordance with: SOX Compliance, ITAR Compliance, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CMMC Requirements, and Industry best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, infrastructure enhancements, automation opportunities, and system integrations.
  • Assist with annual IT capital and operational expense planning by identifying infrastructure lifecycle needs, licensing requirements, and process improvements., * Design, maintain, support, and optimize infrastructure systems including servers, networking equipment, firewalls, virtualization environments, backups, telecommunications, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions, scripts, integrations, and reporting tools utilizing technologies such as SQL, PowerShell, .Net, APIs, or similar technologies.
  • Support and maintain ERP systems and ancillary business applications including Infor XA (Mapics) and related manufacturing systems.
  • Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure, application, network, and system-related issues.
  • Maintain system availability, uptime, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness by deploying and improving best practices on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, analytics, AI utilization, and operational efficiency enhancements.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives by implementing and maintaining secure system configurations, access controls, endpoint security, backup integrity, vulnerability remediation, and network protections.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers related to infrastructure, telecommunications, hardware, software, licensing, and support services.
  • Support audits and compliance initiatives related to SOX, NIST, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, and internal corporate requirements.
  • Maintain and support laptops, workstations, mobile devices, tablets, phones, and peripheral hardware as required.
  • Support operations during non-business hours and weekends as needed.
  • Complies and conducts business in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Promote ethical behavior by acting with honesty and integrity
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required., * Minimum of 5 years of hands-on IT infrastructure and systems engineering experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with scripting, programming, automation, or systems integration.
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with .NET, PowerShell, APIs, or similar technologies preferred.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards, including NIST, CMMC, DFARS, SOX, and ITAR preferred.
