Job description
- Produce high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models for packaged offsite-manufactured mechanical and electrical plant rooms.
- Create and maintain SolidWorks models, standard parts libraries and product drawings.
- Prepare customer approval drawings, production drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs) and as-built documentation.
- Produce General Arrangement (GA) and P&ID drawings to support projects from quotation through to manufacture.
- Review structural drawings and calculations to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and installation.
- Manage engineering change requests and maintain accurate design documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure project requirements are met.
- Support and deliver engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Prepare technical documentation including datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings and O&M manuals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, product development and design process enhancements.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SolidWorks?, * Proven experience designing mechanical and electrical plant rooms, particularly pipework systems such as process, LTHW, CHW, HWS, BCWS and boiler systems.
- Strong SolidWorks CAD experience is essential.
- Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of sheet metal design and general metal fabrication principles.
- Knowledge of structural steelwork and electrical systems would be advantageous.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is desirable.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD for schematic and P&ID drawings is advantageous.
- Experience with Revit modelling would be beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Self-motivated, proactive and keen to learn new technologies and processes.
