Job description
NorthStar Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced and dedicated Traveling IT Network Administrator to support the IT Department.
The Traveling Network Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of corporate network infrastructure and related systems from the ground up.
The individual will support existing offices and participate in new office deployments as NorthStar continues to expand throughout Texas and other regions., * Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure.
- Administer and maintenance Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and printers.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, performance, and security-related concerns.
- Support office relocations, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Assist with vulnerabilities using Qualys.
- Although all servers will be moving to cloud. Still some Microsoft Server installation and maintenance.
Infrastructure Deployment
- Assist with deployment and installation of network hardware and supporting infrastructure.
- Documentation, Install, patch, label, and test network cabling and equipment.
- Coordinate installation and activation of internet circuits and telecommunications services.
- Participate in office buildouts and technology deployments for new locations.
Microsoft Systems Administration
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) environments.
- Administer Microsoft Intune device management and compliance policies.
- Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server environments.
- Assist with identity, endpoint security, and device management initiatives.
- Support Microsoft 365 administration and related cloud technologies.
- Remote mange and maintenance laptops with Intune, and Entra.
Vendor & ISP Management
- Coordinate directly with internet service providers and telecommunications vendors.
- Manage circuit installations, upgrades, and internet cutovers.
- Work with contractors, low-voltage vendors (Electricians), and building management teams during office deployments.
- Ensure timely resolution of service-related issues.
Travel & Field Support
- Travel to company offices and project locations throughout Texas and other operating regions.
- Perform onsite troubleshooting, maintenance, and support activities.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend maintenance windows when necessary to minimize business downtime.
- Support emergency response, storm restoration, and business continuity efforts when required., * Estimated travel requirement of 20%-40%, depending on project activity and company growth.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends during major deployments, network cutovers, emergency situations, or business-critical projects.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Windows support?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field work experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network administration and infrastructure support.
- Strong experience with Cisco networking equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server, and Microsoft networking technologies.
- Experience supporting multi-site network environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly., * Familiar with Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 cloud environments.
- Experience managing ISP installations and circuit provisioning.
- Familiarity with low-voltage cabling standards and best practices.
- Experience supporting distributed field operations and remote offices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry networking equipment and related hardware.
- Ability to climb ladders, work above ceilings, or work under tailers when required.
- Comfortable working in server rooms, telecommunications closets, and construction environments.
- Ability to perform physical installation, relocation, and troubleshooting of network equipment.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year, * 401(k)
