Job description
The IT Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring all computer systems, networks, and equipment operate efficiently to support manufacturing and business operations. This role provides hands-on technical support to employees and production teams, minimizes downtime, and ensures system security and reliability.
Key Responsibilities1. IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems
- Provide timely support to minimize operational disruptions
(Aligned with standard IT technician duties such as troubleshooting hardware/software and supporting users)
- Hardware & Software Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Deploy and update operating systems and business applications
- Repair or replace defective equipment
(Includes installing and maintaining systems and hardware)
- Network & Systems Maintenance
- Support local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi systems, and connectivity across the plant
- Monitor system performance and escalate issues when necessary
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and system checks
(Core responsibility for maintaining network infrastructure and system performance)
- IT Support for Manufacturing Operations
- Support production systems such as MES, ERP, and shop floor technologies
- Troubleshoot IT issues impacting production lines and equipment connectivity
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure system uptime
(Tailored to Hounen Solar's manufacturing environment based on internal IT roles and plant operations)
- Security & Data Protection
- Install and maintain antivirus and cybersecurity tools
- Monitor systems for risks and ensure compliance with company IT policies
- Assist with data backup and recovery processes
- Documentation & Inventory
- Maintain logs of technical issues, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Track IT assets and equipment inventory
- Document procedures and solutions for recurring issues
Requirements
Do you have experience in Manufacturing facility?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of IT support or technician experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of hardware, software, and networking systems
- Familiarity with Windows OS, printers, and basic network infrastructure
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Strong attention to detail and time management
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications
- Experience with ERP/MES systems (preferred in manufacturing settings)
