Job description

Established IT Services Company based in Chester are looking for IT Support Technicians to join their expanding support team in a thriving MSP environment, offering a wide range of IT services and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of IT Support. 1st and 2nd Line roles available - experience dependent.

What will you be doing?

  • Taking IT support calls from clients covering a range of Microsoft technologies, from desktop up to server operating systems and solutions such as Microsoft Exchange Server supporting via remote management

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware and network issues

  • Supporting networking devices such as switches, firewalls/routers, printers, Active Directory and Group Policy

  • Manage end user accounts, emails, backups and disaster recovery

  • Proactively, monitor, manage and support the technical environment

  • Configure, install and upgrade devices

  • Configure and manage VoIP systems including 3cx, Yeastar

  • There will also be some aspects of Linux support, although full training will be given

  • You will also be part of the 27/7 on call rota

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective skills in supporting clients to a 1st and/or 2nd line level.

Ensuring support calls and queries are dealt with in an efficient manner and in line with our clients SLA terms.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Microsoft Windows Server?, Working to tight deadlines and taking ownership of support queries as they come in, seeing them to completion or escalating them to another member of the team.

Good working knowledge of both LAN and WAN networks and how to fault find on common issues that can arise with these type of connections.

Skills and experience we are looking for;

  • Previous experience within a similar role in an MSP environment

  • Client/Customer Service Experience - essential

  • Organised and self efficient

  • Microsoft Server OS (2016-2022)

  • Microsoft 365 Technologies

  • Microsoft Exchange Server

  • Windows Desktop OS

  • Team player

Desirable skills but not essential:

  • Microsoft Hyper-V Server

  • VMware

  • DNS

  • IIS

  • Active Directory/Group Policy

  • TCP/IP
