Job description
We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer to design, build, and enhance ServiceNow applications and integrations that support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission outcomes. You'll work hands-on across ITSM and CRM modules, develop high-quality scripts and flows, integrate with enterprise systems, and collaborate within an Agile team to deliver secure solutions aligned with DHS standards and FedRAMP requirements. While technical skills are essential, a successful candidate will also bring innovative ideas, a sense of ownership, and an ability to anticipate the next question. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include: Develop and configure ServiceNow ITSM and/or CRM modules to meet mission needs Build and maintain workflows, dashboards, and integrations Write clean, maintainable JavaScript (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs) Design and extend data tables, database views, and GlideRecord queries Implement access controls and security best practices Build and enhance AI-driven features using Virtual Agents and Now Assist Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and delivery within Scrum sprints Troubleshoot incidents, resolve defects, and perform performance tuning
Requirements
Active Top Secret OR DHS Clearance Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field OR 3+ years of relevant specialized experience 3+ years of ServiceNow development experience Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and the Glide API Experience developing and configuring ITSM and/or CRM ServiceNow modules Proven ability to design, configure, and implement workflows, business rules, and integrations Experience with Virtual Agent Designer and configuring ServiceNow Virtual Agents Experience building AI features using ServiceNow Virtual Agents and Now Assist Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Strong communication skills with technical teams and government stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification ServiceNow Micro-Certifications (Virtual Agent Implementor, Now Assist for ITSM, AI Agents) Familiarity with Section 508, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements Experience supporting federal or homeland security programs
