Our client, a technology solutions provider, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team in Littleton, MA. This newly created position was designed to support the continued expansion of the company's proprietary automation platform and help improve manufacturing efficiency. The role will focus heavily on designing, building, and maintaining automation systems within Linux environments using Python and Bash scripting. These automation solutions support provisioning, deployment, validation, and manufacturing operations across global sites, including automation workflows tied to physical hardware and production environments. Over 60% of the role is focused on automation development, with the remaining responsibilities supporting production operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure-related initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Linux and automation experience who enjoys building new frameworks, improving processes, and helping shape scalable automation practices. Linux Automation Engineer (Python & Bash Scripting Required) Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable automation solutions using Python, Bash, and related tools
- Develop automation workflows supporting provisioning, deployment, validation, etc.
- Troubleshoot automation, operating system, and infrastructure-related issues
- Support BIOS, firmware, and operating system deployment activities
- Develop scripts supporting system initialization, validation, and post-deployment configuration
- Support Linux environments, system validation activities, and automation tooling initiatives
- Support provisioning workflows, system configuration, and automation-related infrastructure
- Participate in networking, connectivity, and provisioning-related troubleshooting activities
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce manual support
Requirements
Do you have experience in System development?, Linux Automation Engineer (Python & Bash Scripting Required) Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on automation engineering experience required
- Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions within Linux environments required
- Hands-on experience developing automation using Python and Bash scripting required
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency in the US is required for this position due to federal government/military contract requirements, * automation engineering : 5 years (Required)
