Job description

Join a Mission That Matters Sellers & Associates, LLC (S&A), a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), is seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist to support the U.S. Navy's Surface Training Systems Program Office (PMS 339). This position provides an opportunity to leverage data analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, and low-code technologies to improve mission readiness, facilities planning, and operational decision-making for critical Navy training systems.

Working alongside government stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams, you will help develop innovative solutions that improve visibility into project performance, facility utilization, resource allocation, and program execution.

What You'll Do Analyze structured and unstructured data to support facilities and program management decisions. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI and Power Platform solutions. Support the development and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using low-code commercial tools. Assist with AI-enabled and machine learning-assisted solutions, including predictive analytics, classification models, and workflow automation. Perform data cleansing, transformation, validation, and quality assurance activities. Collaborate with government stakeholders to gather requirements and identify opportunities for analytics and automation. Integrate data from multiple sources to improve project tracking, resource management, and risk visibility. Create technical documentation, workflow diagrams, user guides, and data dictionaries. Support development of low-code applications that improve scheduling, reporting, and project execution. Stay current on emerging AI, automation, and analytics capabilities relevant to Department of Defense operations.

Requirements

Active Secret Security Clearance. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Up to four (4) years of relevant experience. Knowledge of data science concepts including data cleansing, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling. Understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, including supervised learning, regression, classification, and model evaluation. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar low-code platforms. Familiarity with Python, SQL, R, or other analytical tools. Understanding of project scheduling concepts, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), critical path analysis, and dependency management. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Department of Defense, Navy, or government programs. Experience with data visualization, automation, workflow development, or predictive analytics. Familiarity with facilities management, project management, or program operations environments.
