Network Specialist - Lead Systems Operations for a High-Impact Mission Network Leidos is seeking a Network Specialist to join a mission-critical, undisclosed network operations program. In this role, you'll be at the heart of real-time operations-supporting core network and system infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and elevating operator readiness. What You'll Do As a key technical expert on the operations floor, you'll provide advanced systems support, guide operators, and collaborate with engineering teams to keep mission systems secure, stable, and optimized. You bring a strong technical foundation, operational awareness, and the ability to lead others through complex system challenges. Active DoD TS/SCI clearance Current DoD 8140-compliant security certification (IAT/IAM Level III equivalent) Ability to obtain required computing environment certification within 6 months Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and system patching Experience with RHEL 9 administration and patching Proficiency with PowerShell and BASH scripting Strong troubleshooting skills across systems and networks Familiarity with syslog and Windows Event Viewer Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to support complex technical environments Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in technical and operational domains Preferred Qualifications These skills will help you stand out: Industry certifications in Red Hat or Windows Experience managing Windows Domain Infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, SCCM) Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup best practices Experience with VMware virtualization Exposure to automation tools Understanding of mission-environment operational support procedures Why This Role Matters You'll be a critical force behind the stability and readiness of a mission-essential network environment.
