- Perform fiber splicing and cabling using hand tools and power tools to establish robust data connections with Cat5, Cat6, and other low-voltage cabling standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, power supplies, and backup generators to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance according to NEC standards.
- Use schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose issues related to computer hardware, telecommunication equipment, and network infrastructure.
- Execute fiber optic splicing projects with precision while adhering to industry best practices for quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment repairs, installations, and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Support CCTV surveillance systems including camera setup, troubleshooting, and system upgrades to enhance security protocols.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar field service role within a data center or telecommunications environment.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN configurations, Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), and network installation procedures.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Juniper networking equipment, Avaya telephony systems, and VoIP solutions.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring practices following NEC guidelines; experience with electrical troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters is preferred.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to telecommunication and electrical systems.
- Prior work involving fiber splicing, cable management, equipment repair, and infrastructure maintenance in a high-density data center setting.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
