Job description

Cordova is seeking a highly skilled Middleware Engineer to lead the daily administration and strategic management of our client's data integration ecosystem. In this role, you will act as a critical connector, partnering with Enterprise Architects and IT teams to manage seamless data flow between internal systems and cloud applications. Using platforms such as Mulesoft (Anypoint), Axway MFT, and Next Axiom, you will design and configure distributed middleware that binds software components and applications into a coherent, scalable architecture. This is a senior-level position that requires deep knowledge of integration patterns and a passion for automating complex manual tasks., Middleware Platform Management Administrative Oversight: Provide high-level support for the Anypoint Platform and Axway MFT, maintaining a robust catalog of built services. API Solution Design: Translate business requirements into scalable, global API solutions, identifying opportunities for component reuse across the enterprise. Modernization: Identify and apply innovative technologies to update existing middleware, ensuring the infrastructure remains modern and efficient. Troubleshooting & Response: Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and patching efforts; coordinate with vendors on upgrades and design issues. Performance Tuning: Conduct ongoing monitoring and tuning of middleware platforms to ensure optimal end-to-end process execution. Planning & Technical Leadership Project Preparation: Decompose complex projects into actionable work packages and provide detailed estimates for technical roadmaps. Architectural Alignment: Ensure development teams are aligned with the architectural direction, scope, and quality standards for all integration projects. Process Standardization: Develop and implement standard processes for the installation and maintenance of middleware components. General Operational Excellence CI/CD & Automation: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines and automate manual tasks through scripting to increase accuracy. Continuous Improvement: Research and apply improved work methods, maintaining a high level of industry awareness regarding modern integration practices. Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Software Engineering: 5+ years of software engineering experience with senior-level design capabilities. Middleware Expertise: 3+ years of experience with Anypoint Platform (MuleSoft), Axway MFT, and API Management. SOA & Web Services: Fluency in XML, SOAP, WSDL, XSD, and RESTful standards. Database Programming: Strong experience with JDBC and relational databases like SQL Server or Oracle. Methodologies: Experience with Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall delivery models, as well as Test-Driven Development (TDD). Technical Proficiencies Languages: Proficiency in Java and Groovy. Version Control: Experience with BitBucket/Git, SVN, or TFS. Desired Skills: Familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible, SharePoint, and server architecture configuration.
