Job description
As a Junior Data Engineer, you'll help build and operate reliable data pipelines and data products that power our analytics and responsible gaming solutions. You will work hands-on with Google Cloud services, support customer onboarding and technical requests, and collaborate closely with engineering and customer teams to ensure high-quality, trusted data., * Developing and operating data pipelines on Google Cloud (BigQuery, Spanner, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Composer/Airflow).

Building new data loads and integrations, including ingesting, transforming, and validating data from customer systems.

Monitoring and improving data quality, implementing checks, alerting, and documentation to ensure reliable datasets.

Supporting onboarding of new customers, helping to set up data flows, validate outputs, and ensure smooth go-live.

Helping resolve technical support tickets, investigating issues, identifying root causes, and collaborating on fixes.

Acting as a technical customer success partner, translating customer needs into technical actions and providing clear, professional communication.

Collaborating daily with backend, frontend, and CSM teams to align data requirements, timelines, and delivery. The Player
Requirements
- Education in computer science / software engineering / data engineering (HTL, university of applied sciences, university) or equivalent practical experience.
- First hands-on experience (e.g., 1-2 years, internships, or strong project work) in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering.
- Solid fundamentals in SQL (querying, joins, data modeling basics) and Python (scripting, data processing, debugging).
- Exposure to Google Cloud and cloud concepts (IAM basics, storage, batch/stream processing)-or strong motivation and ability to learn quickly.
- A structured approach to problem solving and an interest in data quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment with changing priorities and iterative delivery.
- Team-first mindset, strong collaboration skills, and a willingness to ask questions, learn, and improve. Good English skills, both spoken and written, to communicate with international colleagues and customers.
Nice to have
- Experience with Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow (DAGs, scheduling, retries, backfills).
- Experience with Dataflow / Apache Beam concepts (batch/stream, windowing, transforms).
- Familiarity with Spanner data modeling or distributed database concepts.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD, Git workflows, and testing practices for data pipelines.
