Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester 5 days a week.
Your future duties and responsibilities In this role, you will design, build and deploy AI-enabled applications within secure, often disconnected environments. You will take ownership of developing machine learning and AI solutions, including large language models, retrieval systems and data pipelines, ensuring they are scalable, reliable and optimised for performance.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will integrate AI capabilities into existing systems and contribute to solving complex operational challenges. You will bring creativity and technical expertise to developing innovative solutions, while being supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Design & Develop AI-enabled applications and machine learning solutions

Build & Optimise end-to-end ML pipelines and data workflows

Train, Fine-tune & Deploy models, including LLMs and other AI systems

Integrate & Enhance AI capabilities within existing platforms

Deploy & Manage AI workloads using containerisation and orchestration tools

Collaborate & Innovate with cross-functional teams to solve complex challenges

Monitor & Improve model performance and scalability in production
Requirements
You should have strong experience in AI or machine learning development, with solid programming skills and an understanding of modern AI frameworks and deployment practices. Experience delivering AI solutions into production environments is essential.

You should have strong Python development skills

Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI concepts

Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or LangChain

Experience developing and deploying machine learning models into production

Knowledge of data pipelines and CI/CD practices

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies

Familiarity with LLMs, retrieval systems or vector databases (desirable)

Experience working with GPU or on-premise AI environments (advantageous)
