Job description

Are you passionate about building products that make a meaningful impact? Join us as a Product Owner and lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our Commercial Lines insurance products .

In this high-visibility role , you'll connect business strategy with technical delivery-partnering across IT, underwriting, claims, actuarial, operations, marketing, and customer experience. This is an opportunity to shape market-leading insurance solutions and deliver next-generation customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the product vision and roadmap for Commercial Lines products.

  • Define and execute product strategy , aligned to company goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.

  • Develop and present business cases for new products and enhancements.

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation through launch, optimization, and retirement.

  • Prioritize features and functionality to maximize product value.

  • Translate business needs into product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Manage and refine the product backlog to support Agile development cycles.

  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, underwriting, actuarial, marketing, operations, and claims to deliver results.

  • Serve as the link between technical and business stakeholders , ensuring clear and consistent communication.

  • Use customer insights and market intelligence to enhance product competitiveness.

  • Support development of new products and enhancements that drive measurable business and customer value.

  • Oversee release planning, version management, and delivery sequencing.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives) and long-term planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, underwriting, claims, or related insurance functions.

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial insurance products, market dynamics, and regulations.

  • Experience with Commercial Lines products , including:

  • Coverage structures

  • Rating methodologies

  • Underwriting workflows

  • Regulatory requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) , including:

  • Product model configuration

  • Rating engines

  • Integrations (API's, microservices, data services)

  • Applying Guidewire best practices

  • Experience with implentations, upgrades, or cloud migrations strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Proven ability to apply customer insights to product development.

  • Experience developing products aligned with regulatory, competitive, and customer needs.

  • Understanding of technical systems and constraints to partner effectively with IT.

  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive alignment and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $160,100
