Job description
Mutual Security Credit Union is seeking a skilled Systems Administrator II to support and enhance our growing technology environment. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and high-performing systems that support daily operations and member services. You'll work across core infrastructure technologies including Microsoft 365, virtualization, identity platforms, and networking-while contributing to modernization and automation initiatives in a regulated financial environment. Major Responsibilities Infrastructure & Systems
- Administer Windows Server, VMware/Omnissa virtualization, and SAN storage
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Support Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Oversee patching, backups, and disaster recovery processes
- Maintain VDI environments (Omnissa Horizon preferred)
Security & Network Support
- Support firewalls, VPNs, routing, and network segmentation
- Monitor and respond to alerts from security tools (SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning)
- Partner with outsourced SOC for incident response and remediation
Operations & Support
- Provide Tier 2/3 escalated support
- Manage user provisioning and access controls
- Maintain documentation, diagrams, and system runbooks
- Proactively monitor system performance and improve stability
Projects & Improvement
- Execute system upgrades and infrastructure changes
- Contribute to automation, optimization, and standardization efforts
- Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows support?, * 3+ years of systems administration experience
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft 365 & Windows Server
- Active Directory & identity management
- Virtualization (VMware or Omnissa preferred)
- Networking fundamentals, * Experience with FortiGate firewalls and network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with regulated environments (FFIEC, GLBA, NIST)
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)
- Experience in financial services or similar industries
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Attention to detail in a regulated, compliance-driven environment
- Interest in automation, modernization, and continuous improvement
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
- Sitting the majority of the time.
- The ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching above, at or below shoulder level, and kneeling.
- The ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
- The ability to effectively interact with all personality types in stressful situations.
- Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
- Occasional travel out of state.
