Job description
As a Principal SF Developer, you set the technical direction for Salesforce development while staying hands-on with complex engineering work. You define and enforce development standards, guide architectural decisions, and ensure all Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives. You review technical designs, oversee integrations, mentor developers, and drive consistent engineering quality across the team. You collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into technical solutions, troubleshoot complex system issues, and maintain clear documentation to support long-term system health and maintainability.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of complex Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, automation tools, and integrations.
- Proven experience with Integration Patterns, specifically connecting Salesforce with SAP and legacy systems.
- Deep understanding of SSO and Identity Management protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
- Working experience with global, multi-region large enterprise data sets and complex environment management.
- Experience implementing or working with AI technologies (e.g., Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, or LLM integrations).
- Establish and enforce coding standards, development frameworks, best practices, and technical governance across the Salesforce team.
- Conduct code reviews, manage pull requests, reduce technical debt, and ensure high code quality across all deliverables.
- Provide hands-on development and refactoring support for complex or high-impact features.
- Oversee Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and data integration tools.
- Partner with business analysts, architects, and project managers to translate requirements into well-defined technical specifications.
- Mentor and guide developers at all levels, promoting strong engineering practices and professional growth.
- Diagnose and resolve complex Salesforce issues related to performance, integrations, configuration, and custom code.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for technical designs, integrations, configurations, and development processes.
- Support delivery within Agile frameworks and collaborate with DevOps teams on Copado deployment best practices., To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident in your applicant profile.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of experience., * 10+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL/SOSL, and core platform capabilities.
- 3+ years in a technical lead, senior developer, or architect role within Salesforce ecosystems.
- Proven ability to design scalable, secure Salesforce architectures following platform and enterprise best practices.
- Strong command of programming and web technologies (Apex, JavaScript, HTML/CSS) and version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub).
- Deep knowledge with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Digital Engagement; Commerce Cloud and Marketing Cloud experiences are a plus.
- Strong background in building and managing integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware platforms.
- Experience with Copado, including managing development pipelines, promoting changes across environments, and supporting automated deployment processes.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs with clarity and precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with experience troubleshooting complex code and system issues.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and guide developers at varying skill levels, fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.
- Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
- Required Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer I/II
- Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certifications.
- Experience with multi-org or enterprise-scale Salesforce environments.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js).

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$109,000.00 - $185,000.00
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).
