Job description

This position performs work requiring advanced knowledge which is predominantly intellectual in

character and which routinely exercises discretion and judgment. The advanced knowledge is in a field of science or learning and gained through a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction, experience, and expertise acquired in the field.

Scope:

A Construction Support Specialist I plans and performs work requiring sound engineering judgment in the evaluation, organization, and execution of assignments. May implement and execute construction support activities on projects worldwide. On small projects the Construction Support Specialist I may function as the "lead" for construction support activities.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and interact with all levels of craft, supervision, and management on Fluor
  • construction sites
  • Support projects that are located in the office and in the field
  • Review basic project schedules and assist in development of work plans to support project
  • milestones
  • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying
  • complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
  • Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely
  • manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
  • Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
  • May need to travel to attend to business related matters
  • Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Do you have experience in Regulatory compliance?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years* of work-related experience or a or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years* if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to, coworkers, management, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications - Related Education, Experience & Skills

  • Ability to speak/read multiple languages
  • Possess problem solving, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
  • Through understanding of construction operations and support functions
  • Ability to collaborate and adapt to changing conditions
  • Capable of performing constructability assignments in the office(s) and/or at the site
  • Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets,
  • and electronic presentations

Working Conditions:

  • Generally favorable indoor office workspace, and/or;
  • Various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to project worksites and vendor/client facilities that may have temporary office space, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and extreme temperatures and high noise levels
