Job description
EKOS is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to support and optimize our internal systems, infrastructure, and end-user environments. This role blends technical support, system management, production infrastructure ownership, and operational excellence, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT systems across the organization. This individual will serve as a key technical resource for infrastructure initiatives, application deployments, and core system operations, partnering closely with leadership and engineering teams., Core Systems & Platform Ownership
- Own the health, availability, and performance of internal infrastructure and critical business systems
- Serve as a primary technical resource for production systems, application rollouts, and infrastructure changes
- Partner with engineering and product teams to support application hosting, upgrades, and integrations
- Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technology selection·
Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain Office 365/Azure environments, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, MDM, user provisioning, permissions, and lifecycle management
- Administer Windows Server 2019 and 2022 environments including performance tuning, capacity planning, patching, antivirus, and lifecycle management
- Support and maintain Active Directory (on-prem) and hybrid identity management processes, including Group Policy and authentication systems
- Lead and execute patch management strategies across servers, and cloud services
Monitoring, Reliability & Incident Response
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system events, alerts, and infrastructure issues in a timely and professional manner
- Design, maintain, and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging systems for proactive health management
- Respond to and lead troubleshooting of system incidents, outages, and performance issues
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative and corrective actions
Systems & Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Implement, verify, and document backup and disaster recovery processes, including periodic restore testing
- Observe system metrics and logs to proactively identify and resolve performance or reliability issues
- Ensure endpoints, systems, and services comply with internal security and operational standards
- Support deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of internal and customer-facing applications
- Assist with rollout of new technologies (MDM, endpoint security, SaaS tools, infrastructure upgrades)
Automation & Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ansible
- Standardize configurations through Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management practices
- Validate system changes through testing and controlled rollouts
Security & Compliance
- Assist CIO with security strategy and operations
- Implement and maintain security controls across endpoints, servers, and cloud systems
- Support vulnerability management, patching programs, and endpoint/cloud security
- Assist CIO with SOC 2 compliance, including audit coordination, evidence collection, and remediation tracking
- Contribute to identity & access management and security policy enforcement
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Develop, maintain, and improve documentation for systems, processes, and services
- Create and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve team efficiency and consistency
- Record problems, resolutions, and knowledge articles within internal tools and systems
- Follow existing documentation while applying critical thinking to identify improvements and gaps
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to deploy, optimize, and scale systems
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Support onboarding and mentoring of team members through documentation and knowledge sharing
- Operate independently, managing priorities and initiatives with minimal supervision
- Act as a technical partner to leadership on infrastructure and operational strategy
Requirements
Do you have experience in Teamwork?, * 3-7 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering or related technical roles
- 3-7 years managing Office 365/Azure tenants and Active Directory environments
- Able to use one or more of the following: Powershell, Bash, Python, Ansible
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, and routing)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced SaaS environment
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
