Job description
Company: Plexlane Job type: Contract (1099 / independent contractor) Duration: ~5 months (approx. June/July-November 2026), possible extension Location: Hybrid - primarily remote with periodic travel to Ashburn, VAEligibility: Must be a U.S. national. This program operates under a Special Security Agreement; production system access is restricted to U.S. persons.
About the role
Plexlane is the delivery lead on a time-critical program enabling a defense-sector client's transition under a Special Security Agreement (SSA). The work involves standing up a greenfield Salesforce Government Cloud environment with Revenue Cloud CPQ for two business units, integrated to a commercial SAP S/4HANA system via SAP Cloud Integration Suite, against fixed go-live dates of October 1 and November 1, 2026.
You will be the accountable program manager coordinating across Plexlane, a Salesforce implementation partner, and the client's internal SAP and PMO teams. This is a hands-on, senior delivery role on a compressed timeline - not an oversight or status-reporting position.
What you'll own
- End-to-end program delivery against fixed go-live milestones, owning the critical path across Salesforce build, SAP integration, data migration, and cutover
- Day-to-day coordination across multiple delivery organizations - Plexlane, the Salesforce delivery partner, and the client's SAP/integration and PMO teams
- RAID management (risks, actions, issues, decisions), governance cadence, and executive-level status reporting
- Scope, sequencing, and dependency management, including provisioning lead times and an upstream SAP dependency that gates integration testing
- Driving definition of MVP scope and acceptance criteria, and protecting go-live dates through disciplined change control
- UAT coordination, cutover planning, and hypercare transition, * Describe the largest enterprise implementation you personally led end-to-end as the lead program manager. What was the budget, how many vendors and people did you coordinate, and what were you personally accountable for delivering?
- Have you delivered for an entity operating under a Special Security Agreement or FOCI mitigation? Describe the specific operational or IT separation constraints you had to design around - for example, U.S.-person access restrictions, segregated environments, or CUI/ITAR handling.
- Tell us about a Salesforce implementation you delivered.
- Are you a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Greencard holder?
Requirements
Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, This role is not suitable for someone who has only run individual workstreams or sub-projects within a larger program.
- Senior program leadership of large implementations - direct accountability as the lead program manager for full-lifecycle enterprise implementations, owning budget, timeline, multiple vendors, and executive stakeholders. We are looking for someone who has run the whole program, not a single track under someone else's.
- Salesforce delivery - hands-on program experience delivering Salesforce implementations, ideally including Revenue Cloud / CPQ, quote-to-cash or lead-to-cash workflows, and ERP integration.
- SAP integration delivery - experience delivering Salesforce-to-SAP integrations (ideally S/4HANA), including master data synchronization and quote-to-order flows, using middleware such as SAP Cloud Integration Suite (CPI) or comparable.
- Aerospace & defense implementation experience - prior delivery of technology implementations within aerospace & defense organizations, not adjacent or commercial-only experience.
- Special Security Agreement (SSA) experience - direct experience delivering within, or standing up systems for, an entity operating under an SSA. An SSA is a U.S. Government arrangement that allows a U.S. company under foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI) to perform classified or sensitive defense work by establishing governance, personnel, and IT controls that separate sensitive operations from the foreign parent. Strongly preferred.
- CUI / ITAR and regulated-environment experience - demonstrated delivery within environments handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and/or ITAR-controlled data, including GovCloud / Government Cloud, U.S.-person access constraints, and DCAA considerations.
You'll thrive here if you
- Stay calm under compressed timelines and resolve cross-team dependencies before they become blockers
- Are equally credible in an executive governance meeting and a detailed integration-sequencing discussion
- Bring a practical, low-ceremony delivery style focused on supportable outcomes over process overhead
- Can start quickly and commit availability across the full delivery window
Benefits & conditions
$75 - $85 an hour - Contract
