Job description

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute enterprise telecommunications and cloud connectivity strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead modernization initiatives including VoIP, UCaaS, CCaaS, SD-WAN, and cloud-based collaboration platforms.
  • Establish telecommunications standards, architecture, governance, and lifecycle management processes.
  • Support digital transformation, remote workforce, and telehealth initiatives through scalable communications infrastructure.

Telecommunications Operations

  • Oversee enterprise voice and telecommunications infrastructure including NEC PBX & Voice Applications, AVST Voice Mail. Microsoft Teams Voice, SIP trunking, contact center platforms, paging systems, cellular and mobility services, and nurse call integration.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of WAN/LAN transport services.
  • Manage telecommunications outages, incident response, and carrier escalations.
  • Oversee telecom vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and circuit inventory management.

Cloud & Infrastructure Connectivity

  • Manage cloud networking and connectivity for hybrid environments including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Support VPN and ExpressRoute connectivity, cloud firewalls, and secure access.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams on cloud architecture and secure network segmentation.
  • Support migration of communications and collaboration services to cloud-based platforms.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Ensure telecommunications infrastructure aligns with healthcare cybersecurity standards and best practices.
  • Partner with Information Security leadership on Zero Trust initiatives, MFA integrations, secure remote access, telecommunications risk management, and incident response planning.
  • Support HIPAA, HITECH, Joint Commission readiness, and disaster recovery standards.

Operational Management

  • Lead and mentor telecommunications engineers, analysts, and support staff.
  • Develop departmental budgets, capital plans, and technology roadmaps.
  • Maintain documentation, inventory management, and change control processes.
  • Establish KPIs and operational metrics for uptime, carrier performance, service delivery, and customer satisfaction., Reports to: Vice President / Chief Information Officer or Chief Technology Officer

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field required.

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of progressive telecommunications/network leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in healthcare IT or integrated health system environment preferred.
  • Experience managing enterprise telecommunications across multiple locations.
  • Strong experience with hybrid cloud networking and cloud communications technologies.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco CCNP or CCIE
  • Microsoft Azure certifications
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Advanced Networking
  • ITIL Foundation
  • PMP preferred
  • HCISPP, CISSP, or other cybersecurity certifications preferred
