  • Develop complete manufacturing packages from customer-supplied solid models (STEP, IGES, Parasolid) and 2D engineering drawings with full GD&T callouts.
  • Perform full setups and operate CNC horizontal/vertical machining centers and lathes; design or specify custom work holding solutions (vises, fixture plates, soft jaws).
  • Select appropriate cutting strategies (roughing, high-efficiency milling, etc.) and manage tool length offsets, work coordinate offsets, and in-process adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
  • Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams on DFM reviews; execute rapid prototype runs and support the quality team with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 FAIR completion.
  • Regularly review running jobs to reduce cycle times, eliminate tool chatter, upgrade cutting tool technology, and apply high-efficiency machining (HEM) techniques.
  • Conduct real-time inspection of finished components using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) and maintain accurate setup sheets and program revision logs.
  • Communicate clearly with quality, scheduling, and operations teams; train and mentor junior machinists and operators on setup procedures and safe practices.
