Software Developer

The Software Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications with a strong emphasis on geospatial technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions., * Design, code, test, and debug software applications

• Develop and maintain GIS applications using ESRI technologies
• Collaborate with team members on software design and code reviews
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects
• Document technical specifications and maintain software documentation
• Participate in Agile development processes including daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Implement security and data protection solutions
• Optimize application performance and scalability
• Create and maintain geospatial databases and services

Do you have experience in Version control systems?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Development, GIS, or related field

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven experience with GIS software development
• Experience with version control systems (preferably Git)

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C++, or similar)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Demonstrated experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), specifically:
• Commercial Joint Mapping Toolkit (CJMTK)
• ESRI ArcGIS suite of commercial software developer components
• ArcGIS Runtime
• ArcGIS Engine
• ArcGIS extensions including:
• 3-D Analyst
• Geostatistical Analyst
• Network Analyst
• Spatial Analyst
• Tracking Analyst
• ArcGIS Server
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies
• Understanding of software security principles
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Must be able to work on-site at Stennis Space Center, MS

• Secret security clearance
