Are you a skilled Linux Systems Administrator looking to work on mission-critical systems in a dynamic environment? Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support Linux-based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. In this role, you'll perform daily system checks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Linux Systems Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:
- User Support: Manage new user onboarding, workstation imaging, and configuration.
- Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues.
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
- System Upgrades: Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades.
- Network Maintenance: Monitor and maintain network systems.
- Equipment Installation: Install server and network equipment in a data center environment.
- Documentation: Document infrastructure architecture changes and updates.
- HelpDesk Support: Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk.
- After-Hours Support: Occasionally support after-hours system upgrades.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience (additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
- Must have a minimum of:
- 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Experience maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services.
- Understanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall).
Desired Skills:
While not required, the following skills are highly desirable:
- Virtualization: Familiarity with virtualization and Docker technologies.
- Automation Tools: Experience with automation technologies such as Salt, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Atlassian Software: Proficiency with tools like Confluence and JIRA.
- Open-Source Expertise: Experience with a wide variety of open-source software and utilities.
- Identity Management: Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP-based systems.
- Network Security: Background in network security, intrusion detection, and server monitoring.
- Rack Installation: Familiarity with server and networking equipment rack installations.
Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
