Line Design Engineer 2

• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct high-voltage transmission lines (HVTL).

• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.

• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages for outsourced line design jobs.

Job responsibilities:

• Job responsibilities include creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, understand the process used for HVTL planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.

• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in HVTL design, construction, and maintenance, understanding transmission line design practices and work processes.

• Using all software applications used in HVTL design, understanding NESC and client design standards.

• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system, supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations and during emergency.

• Restoration of failed equipment, providing quality assurance reviews for PLS-CADD line models and job construction package.

• Estimating material for transmission projects, transmitting construction packages, and supporting specifications.

• Requires 5-7 years of related experience

• For this position include advanced engineering knowledge, problem-solving skills, significant discretion making independent decisions based on procedure.

• Proficient TLD software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.

Education:

• An accredited bachelor's degree or professional engineer license
